Environmental activism
Around 2010 I founded ZUKUNFT STATT KOHLE (FUTURE INSTEAD OF COAL) because our Graubunden state electrical company was planning on building two new coal-powered electrical plants (one in northern Germany and another in southern Italy) using taxpayer's money. It took us four years, but we won the vote, and an unprecedented law was passed that forbids any industry in the state to invest in coal power. The women I am speaking to are the President of Switzerland at that time, Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf, and the head of the Federal Department of Environment and Energy, Doris Leuthard. We also marched on many anti-nuc rallies, and I have joined several of the recent marches to address climate change.
